OPENING NIGHT SHOWCASE AND CHEFS CIRCLE
ITS ALL ABOUT CONNECTIONS AND WHO'S
WHO IN THE WORLD OF CUISINE!
An 'Opening Night' to remember! Thirteen
Ontario colleges and universities serving the delicacies of their
regions,
6 Ontario small breweries and 5 Ontario wineries sharing
their Ontario grown and
produced beverages, 14 Ontario food growers producers
presenting their products, one town crier, one amazing
band and over 200 delegates.
Delegates from across Ontario and Canada were welcomed
by Tim Peterson, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister
of Tourism and Recreation who brought greetings on behalf
of Jim Bradley.
The Ministry
of Tourism and Recreation was the "Premier" sponsor of
the Symposium. Music filled the atrium at George Brown College
by the rhythmic sounds of the Marigolds.
Colleges and universities exhibited the succulent
delicacies of their regions where each step took us in
a different direction while savouring the 'Tastes
of Ontario.'
Please

what was enjoyed, discussed and experienced as the symposium
industry delegates were be able to experience first-hand
regional, culinary agricultural resources and riches.
CHEFS CIRCLE
Internationally acclaimed Chef John Higgins, Director of George Brown
Chef School and his 'Circle of Chefs' prepared an extraordinary event
for the all the Students and Faculty of several Ontario Colleges and
Universities who participated in the Culinary-Tourism Symposium Opening
Night.

Joining the exhibiting colleges and universities were
the participants of the Knorr Ready, Set, Cook
and Win 2004. Each year, the Faculty of Hospitality
and Tourism hosts the annual Ready, Set, Cook and Win
competition where over 100 high school students from
around Ontario compete for over $20,000 in scholarships
to the award-winning centre for culinary arts. (Click
